Posh Stink is a London perfumerie that makes one batch a year: one scent for each season, three hundred numbered bottles each. We blend in small runs and stop when the batch is gone. Nothing is restocked. The fourth dimension of scent is time: how a perfume opens, settles and lingers, through a day and through a year.
Smoky Magma

Volcanic heat, slow smoke, skin warmed by stone.
Top: Volcanic ash, black lava salt, pink pepper. Heart: Sulphur spring, hot basalt, smoked lychee. Base: Charred cedar, birch tar, ambergris.
Born on the night a volcano broke through the sea. We imagined the air above the new island: ash still falling, salt crusting on black rock, steam that smells of struck matches. Smoky Magma is the first breath of land that did not exist yesterday.
Monkey Punch

Mischief in a glass. Fruit gone too far, sweet and loud.
Top: Durian, rotten papaya, banana skin. Heart: Monkey-spit coffee, spilled rum, cinnamon bark. Base: Gut-fermented bean, tobacco, tonka.
On coffee farms in India and Taiwan, macaques raid the trees at night, eat the sweet fruit and spit out the beans. Their saliva starts a fermentation that sells for a small fortune, a cousin of kopi luwak, the coffee fermented inside a civet. Monkey Punch is the morning after the raid: a durian split open on the bark, fruit gone too far, a puddle of rum, the most expensive mess in the jungle.
Cold Tsunami

Electric, minty, sharp. The air before the wave.
Top: Ozone, frozen mint, sea spray. Heart: Cannabis leaf, fresh snow, cold metal. Base: Ambergris, petrichor, white musk.
The wave arrives before you hear it: a wall of cold air that crackles with static, sharp as frozen mint, green and resinous like a crushed cannabis leaf. In winter it never reaches the shore as water; the spray freezes in mid-air and falls as snow on the black rocks. We bottled the second before it lands: electricity, salt, snow. Ambergris, aged for years by the ocean, holds it on the skin. Cold Tsunami is the one second of silence before the sea comes in.
Poison Dart

Beautiful and dangerous. Green to the point of venom.
Top: Crushed tomato leaf, galbanum, green mandarin. Heart: Frog skin, rainforest beetle, bitter almond. Base: Wet soil, oakmoss, musk.
A poison dart frog is not born poisonous. It eats its venom, beetle by beetle, ant by ant, from the floor of the rainforest; raised away from the jungle, it becomes harmless. Poison Dart is the floor it feeds on: wet moss, crushed leaves and a bitter green. A colour that says do not touch. Wear it anyway.
